These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you ("Merchant", "you", or "your") and Dodo SBS Limited, a company registered in Tanzania ("Meku", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Meku Business mobile application (Android) or the web platform at merchant.meku.co.tz (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a business, you represent that you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms.
Meku Business is an all-in-one business management platform for Tanzanian merchants. It includes a point-of-sale system, inventory management, expense and purchase tracking, debt management, analytics, an online storefront, and marketplace listing — delivered as a mobile application (Android) and a web application at merchant.meku.co.tz.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@meku.co.tz if you suspect unauthorised access.
Each account represents a single merchant (tenant). You may add staff members to your account, but you remain responsible for their actions within the Service.
Access to the Service requires a paid subscription. We offer the following plans, billed in Tanzanian Shillings (TZS):
All plans include access to every feature. The sole difference between plans is the maximum number of active products you may manage. Subscription fees are billed monthly in advance. Subscriptions renew on the 1st of each month. First-month fees are pro-rated based on the days remaining in the billing period.
Payments may be made via mobile money (through Selcom) or bank transfer. Failure to pay within the grace period may result in suspension of your account.
Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice.
Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable Tanzanian consumer protection law. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at support@meku.co.tz within 14 days of the charge.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful business purposes. You must not:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without refund.
You own all business data you enter into the Service — your products, customers, transactions, and expenses. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display this data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
We will not sell your data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.
The Meku Business mobile application, web platform at merchant.meku.co.tz, design system, branding, and underlying technology are owned by Dodo SBS Limited and protected by Tanzanian and international intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service.
You retain ownership of all content you upload or create within your account.
The Service integrates with third-party providers including Selcom (payments), Dodo Delivery (logistics), Beem Africa (SMS), and Cloudflare (storage and CDN). Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the performance or policies of third-party providers.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by Tanzanian law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dodo SBS Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service, including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease and we will retain your data for 30 days before permanent deletion (unless you request earlier deletion).
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay subscription fees, or engage in conduct that harms other users or the integrity of the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Arusha, Tanzania.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
